NUS Modules

10/11 Semester 2: (4.46)
EE2012 Analytical Methods in ECE
Involves two lecturers. Part I: Lecturer is no where near approachable. Part II: Ben Chen is one of the most approachable Prof in NUS. Crap module. In my 3 years of NUS + 3 years of NP life, I’ve never used all this stuffs being taught, maybe except for the topic: Statistics.
CS3217 Software Engineering on Modern Application Platforms
Being in the pioneer class is fun! A lot of uncertainties as we are all heading into a world of unknown! Prof Ben Leong is the lecturer. iPad is loan to you free throughout the semester. We did up an “Angry Bird” clone on iOS within the first 6 weeks of the class. Imagine the workload… This module is worth 5 MCs but it easily feels like a 20MCs module.
CS3240 Human-Computer Interaction
Very interesting module. Project involves creating a virtual product demo. Our team selected Nintendo DSi as our product and is built on Adobe Flash.
EE4001 B.Eng. Dissertation
10/11 Semester 1: (4.34)
EE2010 System Control
Nice module. Really interesting and fundamental. Everything about controls and should be quite simple for most. But I think I died in the final paper.
CS2102 Database Systems
SQL, database design. Has a project which worth only 10%. The time spent is definitely more than 10%. Should be easy for those with mySQL/PHP background.

CS3243 Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
One of the most interesting modules I took in NUS. Teaches you how to create AI. 2 20% projects are tedious but definitely worth the effort. Just make me want to advance into AI field.
SSA2202 Changing Landscapes of Singapore
My project is B-. wtf. Concept wise is interesting!
EE4001 B.Eng. Dissertation
CA1/2 is cool.
09/10 Semester 4: (4.34)
CS2103 Software Engineering
Good and very useful module. Teaches about top-down design in software engineering. Many useful tips in project management too.
09/10 Semester 2: (4.30) – SEP at University of Oulu, Finland
EE3101 Digital Signal Processing
Module is mapped.
EE4218 Embedded Hardware System Design
Module is mapped.
EE4210 Computer Communication Networks II
Module is mapped.
EG2401 Engineering Professionalism
Module is mapped.
09/10 Semester 1: (4.30)
CS1102C Data Structures and Algorithms
Crazy programming module. Labs are killer. Take this if you like programming or you will find yourself dragging this module. Later, I became the tutor of this module. Funny.
MA1506 Mathematics II
Another maths module. Quite systematic, but this semester’s exam was a killer. But definitely easier than MA1505.
EE2009 Signals
Past year paper is your only way of surviving. Ask ask ask. A lot of signal theories.
EE3207 Computer Architecture
TTT, that’s the lecturer’s name. Nothing much to say about this module. Avoid at all cost.
EE3204 Computer Communications Networks I – zEE3204.zip
Basic networking concepts. Should be pretty reasonable for those with CCNA backgrounds.
08/09 Semester 3: (4.33)
EE2001 Embedded SubSystem Project
Easy to get A if you are strong in project design. Time management is very important. Do what is important first!
08/09 Semester 2: (4.39)
CS1101C Programming Methodology
C Language programming module. A bi-weekly graded lab. Lab tips are floating everywhere. Just get the tips if you can and you will pass.
CS1231 Discrete Structures – zCS1231.zip
A math module with lots of logic thinkings and calculations like permutations and combinations.
EE2007 Microprocessor Systems
Similiar to EE2006 with more advanced and in-depth information on x86 architecture.
MA1505 Mathematics I
Another math module. Needs to practice!
MLE1101 Introductory Materials Science and Engineering
No helpsheet allowed in the exams. Prepare to burn your brain cells.
08/09 Semester 1: (4.63)
EE2005 Electronics
Module mainly about ac/dc resistance, looking in, looking out. Could be lost at first but this is one module that falls into the category of: Practice makes perfect. :D
EE2006 Digital Design
Well, digital design. Everything about logic gates and counters. It’s either you get it or you don’t get it kind of module.
GEK1527 Genes and Society
Genes and Society! I bet this is a good module to score A for bio students. Those without bio background like me, please back off from this module or you will waste an S/U option.
MA1301 Introductory Mathematics
Basically maths revision – O’lvl and Poly type of engineering maths.
PC1222 Fundamentals of Physics II – zPC1222.zip
Physics you learn in O’s, but just more more in depth. :D

Materials are available for my fellow juniors/friends in NUS. Just send me a email of your request.
